Doctor Ekaterine Gvarishvili is part of the Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Cataract Consultation Service at “Sagittarius”. As a surgeon, she specializes in restoring vision in patients with cataracts, but she also performs glaucoma, strabismus and dacriology surgery.
Doctor E. Gvarishvili provides routine eye care and sees the full spectrum of eye conditions—ranging from diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration to glaucoma. She provides Optical coherence tomography (OCT) and Ultrasound A-scan and B – scan of the eyeball and orbit.
She also conducts researches in USA (2014-2018 Boston, MA) with the goal of advancing treatment options for sight-threatening conditions. She is particularly interested in studying new medicines and therapies, such as monoclonal antibody therapy, for the treatment of uveitis—the third leading cause of blindness in the world.
